LOCATION: Built on top of a high bluff with a breathtaking panorama, our lodge is superbly located in Tarangire National Park, providing one of the best views in Africa. Carving out the landscape below the lodge is Tarangire River, a favourite watering place, which attracts impressive numbers and variety of game. The scene unfolds before you while lounging on the outdoor patio, allowing you to appreciate Tarangire's diverse wildlife without ever leaving the lodge.

BAR AND RESTAURANT: All meals are served under the vaulted ceiling of the open-aired dining room, providing great views of the landscape below. The cuisine is international, using fresh local ingredients and a hint of African spices. Children can be catered for with early mealtimes, and we are happy to accommodate special dietary requirements.

Your day can begin at sunrise with tea or coffee delivered to your room. Our extensive breakfast buffet offers a variety of fresh fruit, homemade breads and pastries, cereals, yoghurt and porridge, served alongside freshly brewed Tanzanian coffee or tea. Cooked English-style breakfasts can be ordered to energize your day's game viewing.

Lunches are typically served buffet style, with a varying selection of soups, salads, and hot and cold dishes…and an assortment of delicious deserts. Dinner is a 3-course meal served at your table. There is always plenty to eat and enough variety to ensure there is something to suit all tastes.

ROOMS & DESCRIPTION: Our tents are spacious, sturdy and comfortable - more like a room with canvas walls than tents of our childhood. Built on a solid base; with a thatched roof, screened windows and en suite stone-walled bathroom, our tents provide all the space and comforts you need. All 35 tents have been recently refurbished, and we now have 4 tents with double beds.

In front of each tent is a small veranda where you can sit, relax, admire the view, and watch the wildlife. The large canvas doors unzip to reveal the bedroom, where you find two comfortable single beds and a writing table and chair. Our honeymoon suite is situated near a secluded overlook of the river and is furnished with a large double bed made of old dhow wood.

Three sides of the thick canvas walls can be rolled up to expose netted windows. These allow you to enjoy the cool breeze and experience the bush all around you, without being exposed to the elements or bothered by the insects. The bathroom includes a solar-heated shower with ample hot water, flush toilet, and a dressing room with a wash basin, mirror, clothes rack and laundry basket.

OTHER FACILITIES & SERVICES: THE POOL - Take a dip in the pool to relax and freshen up after a game drive. The waterslide and splash pool make this area popular with kids of all ages. New comfortable wrought inron poolside lounge chairs can be used for sun bathing or as a cool retreat in the shade for reading your favourite novel or dozing in the afternoon.

THE BAOBAB BOUTIQUE - If you feel like doing a little souvenir shopping, don't miss our well-stocked gift shop. Filled with books on African wildlife, culture, and history, clothes created with local fabrics, colorful textiles, and beaded silver jewelry, we have a unique mix of tasteful handcrafts made by local artisans – there is something to tempt everyone.

THE LOUNGE & BAR - Our cozy lounge is furnished with couches made from the weathered wood of old Zanzibar dhows. The over-stuffed cushions make it the perfect place to curl up with a book, or swap safari tales. Tea and coffee is complimentary at all times, or try a local beer or a cocktail mixed at the well stocked bar.
